How to Install HiTV APK on Android (Step-by-Step 2026 Guide)

A complete walkthrough to download, sideload and set up the HiTV APK on any Android phone, tablet or TV box — including troubleshooting tips.

HiTV is one of the most popular streaming apps for Korean dramas and Asian content, but since it's not available on the Google Play Store, you need to install it as an APK — a process called sideloading. Don't let that word scare you. It takes under two minutes and the steps are the same on every Android device.

This guide covers every scenario: standard Android phones, Samsung Galaxy devices, Android TV boxes and even emulators for watching on PC.

What You Need Before You Start

Before downloading, make sure your device meets these basic requirements:

  • Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or later
  • At least 100 MB of free storage
  • An active internet connection for the download
  • A file manager app (most phones have one built in)

The APK itself is small — typically under 30 MB — so even budget phones handle the install without a problem.

Step 1: Download the HiTV APK

Head to the HiTV download page on this site. Always download from a trusted source; the APK here is the official build, SHA-256 verified and scanned by VirusTotal before every mirror update.

Tap Download HiTV APK and your browser will save the file to your device's Downloads folder. Depending on your connection speed, the download takes 10–30 seconds.

Tip: If your browser asks whether you want to keep the file, tap Keep or Download anyway. This is a standard browser warning for any APK file — not a sign that the file is harmful.

Step 2: Enable Installing from Unknown Sources

Because HiTV isn't on the Play Store, Android blocks APK installs by default. You need to grant your browser or file manager permission to install apps. The steps differ slightly by Android version.

Android 8.0 and Later (Most Modern Phones)

Android 8 and above asks for permission on a per-app basis, which is more secure than the old global toggle:

  1. Tap the downloaded APK file from your notifications.
  2. Android shows a prompt saying "your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source."
  3. Tap Settings in that prompt.
  4. Toggle on Allow from this source.
  5. Press back — Android returns you to the installer automatically.

Android 7.0 and Earlier

Older Android versions use a single global switch:

  1. Open Settings → Security.
  2. Scroll down to Unknown sources.
  3. Toggle it on and confirm the warning dialog.
  4. Return to your Downloads folder and tap the APK.

Samsung Galaxy Devices (One UI)

Samsung phones have a slightly different settings path:

  1. Open Settings → Apps.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right → Special access.
  3. Select Install unknown apps.
  4. Choose the browser you used to download (Chrome, Samsung Internet, etc.).
  5. Toggle Allow from this source to on.

Android TV and TV Boxes

On Android TV and most TV boxes:

  1. Go to Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions.
  2. Enable Unknown sources (you may need to enter a PIN).
  3. Install a file manager from the Play Store (FX File Explorer or File Commander work well).
  4. Open the file manager, navigate to Downloads, and tap the HiTV APK.

Step 3: Open the APK and Install

Once you've enabled installs from unknown sources:

  1. Pull down your notifications shade — you should see the completed download listed there.
  2. Tap the notification to open the APK installer directly.
  3. Android shows you the permissions HiTV requests. Review them — you'll see internet access, storage for offline downloads and media controls. Nothing invasive.
  4. Tap Install. The process completes in 5–10 seconds.
  5. When you see App installed, tap Open to launch HiTV immediately, or Done to find it on your home screen.

If you missed the notification, open your Files, My Files or File Manager app, go to Downloads, and tap the hitv.apk file.

Step 4: First Launch and Sign-In

HiTV doesn't require an account to start watching. On your first open you have two options:

  • Tap Continue as Guest to browse and stream right away — no registration needed.
  • Tap Sign Up to create a free account. This lets you sync your watchlist across devices, continue episodes where you left off and get personalised recommendations based on your watch history.

Guest mode is fully functional for one-off sessions. An account becomes worthwhile once you're following several ongoing series.

Once inside, use the Search bar at the top or browse the Trending, New Releases and Genre tabs to find something to watch.

Step 5: Keeping HiTV Updated

Since HiTV isn't on the Play Store, it won't update automatically. Here's how to stay on the latest version:

  • Bookmark hitv.it.com/download — every new release is posted here as soon as it's available.
  • Inside the HiTV app, go to Settings → About → Check for updates. The app can detect a newer version and prompt you to download it directly.
  • When a new APK is available, simply repeat this install process over the existing app — your data, watchlist and download history are all preserved.

Troubleshooting Common Problems

"App not installed" Error

This usually means the APK download was incomplete or interrupted. Delete the file from your Downloads folder, re-download from the download page, and try again.

"Parse Error"

A parse error means Android couldn't read the APK file — usually because of file corruption during download. Clear your browser cache (Settings → Apps → your browser → Storage → Clear cache), download fresh, and retry.

Installation Blocked by Play Protect

Google Play Protect may flag the APK with a warning. This is expected behaviour — Play Protect cannot verify APKs from outside the Play Store and flags all of them by default. It is not detecting actual malware. Tap Install anyway to proceed. If you'd like independent confirmation, upload the APK to virustotal.com before installing.

App Crashes on Open

Restart your phone and open HiTV again. If crashes continue, uninstall the app completely, redownload the latest APK from this site, and reinstall. If the crash persists, check that your Android version is 5.0 or above.

"Not Enough Storage" Warning

HiTV needs around 100 MB free to install. Delete unused apps or move photos to cloud storage to free up space, then retry.

Videos Buffering Constantly

Buffering is usually a network issue rather than an app issue. Try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data or vice versa. If the problem only affects certain titles, those streams may be under high load — try again later or select a different quality in the video player settings.

Installing HiTV on PC (Windows or Mac)

HiTV is Android-only, but you can run it on your computer using a free Android emulator:

  1. Download and install BlueStacks 5 from bluestacks.com (free, available for Windows and Mac).
  2. Open BlueStacks and use its built-in browser to go to hitv.it.com.
  3. Download the APK from within BlueStacks — the emulator treats it like a native Android device and installs it automatically.
  4. Launch HiTV from the BlueStacks home screen and enjoy full HD streaming on your desktop.

BlueStacks runs well on any Windows 10 or Windows 11 machine made after 2018. On Mac, it requires macOS 11 Big Sur or later.
